Good game but the ads.... There's an ad after every single stage. There used to be none until the most recent update. Go back. The games 12 years old.

Over all a great game. I've played it several times, and other than dealing with ads it's a fun time filler. Recently I re-Downloaded the game and started to play again. None of my unlocked games/features were available from the last time I played the game. But I figured oh well it's been awhile so I decided to restart and went to purchase more coins. The goldmine option was not available, as I have purchased it before. So I bought the lesser deal. Now I go to play and it has erased it all.
I was having fun playing this game until it glitches and made me restart the game from the beginning. My name is the only thing that didn't get erased. I would give it 5 stars if I could keep playing where I was but instead I will delete it.
Great game, it gives you a good challenge, but once you complete the story mode twice, you basically have nothing else to do but to just play around with the Zen garden. After that, it just becomes one of those games you have on your phone that never play again. Plus the game has a LOT of ads. It will try to show an ad every chance it gets. Overall: great game but needs more for the player to do.

I kind like this game. The only bad thing about it is when I get up to the roof level 3 which is a very high level the game puts me back to level one. This happend not one time but two so even though it is a goodish game I can not enjoy it because I can never finish the game. This game is fun, annoying and kind of worh downloading if you never want to finish the levels!!!

This game has no in app purchases so I cannot understand why you have the need to cheat the players so much. It makes no sense at all. It doesn't make it more challenging and frustrating, it just makes it boring. Before EA took over the game wasn't like this. EA can't even get mobile games right.
This is a game not like the original, first of all the iconic easy to look at graphics from the original are gone, this new "free" version is not free. Its just a shadow of what it once was, honestly just get the sequel it's a worthy successor to the original and actually free. Even if some plants must be payed for, the sequel is better than this cash grab EA has given us here. In other words, bring back the PopCap original that we know and love in our hearts.

I love this game a lot, but there is one thing missing: you know how pvz 2 has accounts to restore progress through devices? Yeah, well I think this needs that too. If you add this I will change to 5 stars, I just really need this. Unless there is a way to restore progress, please tell me.
Was ok even with all the ads until the game crashed and all my progress gone, even thought about buying it but now uninstalled.
Used to play this in 2014; still have the same aspect I used to love. Now, there's annoying 5-seconds-locked pop-up ads appearing after passing or resetting a level. The ads started appearing when you enter to the Night stage. Not to mention, the ads always play sounds and the mute button "strangely" doesn't respond right away. Thanks EA, you greedy bunch of a**holes!
Was always a fun and entertaining game, but now it displays ads that always take you to the Play Store or even install the app advertised, they have a fake 'x' to supposedly close the ad and return to the game but certain ones ALWAYS start installing the app no matter how precisely you tap on the fake x. On top of the insanely high ad density where you can't go back & forth between 2 menus without hitting one of these ads each time, let alone getting to play. Lowering my rating from 5 to 1 star.
PERFECT game, but the ads are just too overwhelming. I understand that free games come with ads and I'm even okay with copious amounts of ads, but having to watch a 15-second ad for Marvel What If between every screen change is just too much. If it was an ad after every other level then sure. But we're talking a 10-15-sec ad between every flag in Survival mode. That's just ridiculous! Despite being one of the most fun games ever created, it's just not worth it at that point.

They've kind of ruined this game, I really enjoyed it when I first played it, popcap created something good but EA messed it up
I bought the zzsunset version a while back thinking it's just PvZ. it's the exact same issues I have with this one. instead of unlocking the mini games puzzles, and survival. you have to buy them for a pricey amount of coins in Dave's shop. (50k+) I can't see why I should buy them when I should just be able to unlock them. EA is just milking the series. But why the hell can't they just put the og game up for purchase? make it cost 10-15 bucks and I'll get it in a heart beat. Bad game & Bad EA.

It's a good game but the problem is that you know the thing is fake because how can you plant on a lily pad but it has no soil to plant on and how and are the roots just going to go through the lily pad so it really makes no sense but overall it's a really good game

On this plants versus zombies it doesn't show you the peas actually coming out of the peashooter mouth and it just ends up coming out a space away from it but at least the mini games are there but the worst thing about that is that you have to buy all of it so it's just pretty boring but at least it got something that plants versus zombie 2 doesn't

A very fun strategy game, that I have fun playing once in a while. Unfortunately, the ads are way beyond excessive. They ruin the game, as you are constantly being bombarded with advertisements. It makes the experience less than enjoyable. Good job, EA.

I've been playing this game for years. I recently got a new phone. All the coins I bought are gone and it won't let me buy any, saying I already have them. The game has changed a bit and now it costs hundreds of thousands of in game coins to open areas that used to be free. I reached out to EA games and was told this game has been "sunset" and is no longer in the play store and that can not help me with anything. Yet, here I am, in the play store, leaving a review on the game I could download

This game is super enjoyable and I play it often, however I've been having a constant struggle with it, if I stop playing this game for about a week or so I lose all my progress and have to start from scratch, I've looked up methods to fix the issue but I haven't found any helpful info, if you could fix this that would be most appreciated
Despite being a "free" port of the original, the EA Touch still taints the simplicity and entrainment that the original game brought. The ads are annoying, and the prices of some of the items is downright painful to grind for.
I was playing this a few months back, and all of my progress was reset, please fix so no one else has the same problem.
I love the game itself, but the incessant ads make it unenjoyable. You can get an ad when leaving the Zen Garden, then another ad when you start a game.mode a second later. I get that this is ad supported, but the sheer amount of ads is ridiculous. I want to keep the game and play through it, but it's a struggle when all I do is watch more ads.
I'm done. I'm fricking done. EA has done nothing but ravage this game. Not only is it now being used as an ad farm, but they've done so much tampering that the MOMENT the game crashes, it deletes all your save data. I reached 4-7 yesterday (9/22/21) and came back today, the game crashed, and when I refreshed, all my data was WIPED. I've read reviews of other people having a similar problem, and it wasn't until I reinstalled the app that I saw it firsthand. I'm disgusted by what you've done.
It's a good game, however the reason I rated it so bad is because of how awful the mobile version is due to the sheer amount of ads, pay-to-win mechanics, lack of content, and amount of bugs and glitches, this is utter trash, go play on literally any other platform, it'll be much better...
This has always been a fun game for me. My phone must have went through and updated my apps. Before the update the ads where annoying but not bad and on par with ads in other apps. Now,,,, 30second ads with every single move through the game?!?! The game is really fun, but I dont want to sit through 30s ads you cant x out of . Yes , it's my choice not to pay for the"no adds" option and yes ads are part of a mobil business process but I tend not to spend money on casual time wasters.
I'm nearly half way finishing adventure a second time and I really want some new mini-games but they are so expensive. And I assume the prices aren't going to lower since... It's EA. A lot of the shop plants are garbage and waste of coins and who the heck wants a freaking Rake like really. PvZ is fun but gets boring after some time. If you like it I recommend PvZ2. Five stars if prices lower... Most likely not gonna happen though so yeah Four stars.
I would rather play the console. The main reasoning for that is because there are way too many ads, like every time you enter a mode kind of a lot. Console does not do that. Then there are the ad items like the rake l,and explodo nut, they both get in the way of the game and when you try to tap where they are it asks if you want to watch an ad, especially the explodo nut because when you try to get sun that's over the item it wont get the sun but it does tap the ad, other than that its all good

Great game, been playing it on other platforms since it came out, just downloaded recently on my phone, played for 2 days with no issue until today, launched the game and all my gaming data is gone, not sure why but I restarted the game and my phone and it still appears to be lost, I don't know if other people has the problem but please look in to it, even it's not a huge deal but still a little disappointing.
